PPE Supply Donation

For health care workers, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic is especially challenging as the demand for PPE supplies grows. As reports of these shortages persisted, members of the DC School Nurses Association took action to help their fellow health care colleagues on the front lines.

Nurses from Lowell, GDS, Gonzaga, Lab School, and Maret worked together to collect their school’s emergency response gear such as masks and medical gloves. The goal was to get them “out of closets and into the hands of those who needed them” says School Nurse Mary Van Sickle.

Lowell contributed 330 masks valued at $250 based on the current cost of similar masks. Today, these materials will be donated to the DC Department of Health to be distributed to local hospitals and testing centers in need.
