  • Director of Human Resources

    Lowell School, a progressive school of approximately 335 students in Northwest Washington, DC, is currently seeking applications for the position of Director of Human Resources to begin immediately. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the successful candidate will advise the senior leadership team concerning all aspects of human resources at the School. They will be responsible for the administration and management of all areas of human resources operational activities, providing support across the full employee life cycle including supporting recruiting/hiring, managing on-boarding, pay and benefits, performance management, compliance with federal and state statutes/laws, open enrollment, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims and filings, and off-boarding. This position is also responsible for managing human resources policies, and procedures, communication with employees, maintenance of employee files, managing annual trainings, and, at the same time, balancing employee advocacy with the needs of the school. Due to the nature of work in this role, they will partner with both the Director of Finance and Operations and the Head of School on a regular basis. 
  • Primary School Math Specialist

    Lowell School, a progressive school of approximately 335 students in Northwest Washington, DC, is currently seeking applicants for the position of Primary School Math Specialist. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Math Education or Elementary Education and will work with students and families in kindergarten through 5th grade by providing mathematics instruction within and outside the classroom that supports academic progress. The Math Specialist reports to the Primary School Director and collaborates with other members of the Student Support Team, assessing students as needed and collaborating with classroom teachers in planning, co-teaching, and/or coaching.
  • Primary School Lead Teacher

    Lowell School, a progressive PK-8 school of 335 students in Northwest Washington, DC, is currently seeking applicants for the position of Primary School Lead Teacher in Grades K-5. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in early childhood or elementary education, possess knowledge of the social, emotional, and academic needs of elementary children, and be well versed in best practices for delivering language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies instruction.
  • Substitute Teachers

    We are currently hiring substitute teachers for the 2021-22 school year. Ideal candidates will have the following: at least 60 credit hours towards a bachelor's degree, experience with elementary school-aged children, a flexible schedule, a collaborative spirit, and a sensitivity to a diverse (in all ways) community of learners. All applicants must be fully vaccinated.
