From Kindergarten through 8th grade, students have the opportunity to learn a sport and be part of a team. Athletes improve their fitness and physical skills and also learn the importance of fair play and teamwork. The Lowell athletics program offers a valuable way for students to develop new skills, as well as confidence and leadership, outside the classroom.
Beginning in Kindergarten, students have the opportunity to join the intramural Swimming and Jr. Track teams. In 4th grade, students are invited to join our competitive teams, which include Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Lacrosse, Sr. Track and Field, and Ultimate Frisbee.
We focus on the fundamentals of each sport and embracing practice and discipline as important aspects of team participation. We also teach students drills and conditioning techniques to help improve their skills. And, while Lowell athletes proudly represent our school, our coaches ensure that they demonstrate good sportsmanship both on and off the field of play.
The Lowell Leopards have many loyal fans who cheer teams on, whether they’re in the pool, on the fields, or in the Lowell Dome! Some of our biggest fans are Lowell parents. We welcome parent involvement, and there are many ways to volunteer—keeping score, recording statistics, providing snacks and transportation, taking photos during games and meets, and participating in the student-parent games at the end of the season.
We believe sports are a great avenue for furthering students’ growth and development, and we encourage every parent to be a Lowell Leopard too!
