Kindergarten to 5th grade students are eager to learn. We provide an ideal environment for them to develop foundational academic skills, ask questions, collaborate with others, and explore the world around them in increasing depth.
Primary School forms the foundation of children’s school experience. Children learn essential skills, and their knowledge grows exponentially. At Lowell, children are at the center of the learning experience, and teachers are expert guides who help their students build on their strengths, tackle challenges, and delight in learning. It is an exciting time in children’s academic and personal growth.
We foster this growth within a learning environment that is warm, down-to-earth, and respectful of all. The values of self-control, caring for others, friendship, and conflict resolution are emphasized throughout our program and school activities. This helps create an openness to different perspectives and ways of thinking that further broadens young minds and the paths to discovery. This combination of academic and social-emotional skills, along with cultural competence, is what children need now and in the future as they navigate our complex global world.
The key to making it all work is a wonderful teacher—and we are overflowing with them! Our teachers are not only experienced and highly skilled professionals, they are enthusiastic fans of their students and want to see each one flourish. They design learning units that use powerful, relevant content to deepen both conceptual understanding and skill development. And, each teacher has the flexibility to respond to student needs and adapt the curriculum to maximize student engagement and learning throughout the year.
