Peace and Kindness March

On Wednesday, January 29, Kindergarten through 5th grade students will gather along the driveway for the annual Peace and Kindness March. In preparation for the march, students are encouraged to investigate the questions, What do I believe? What are actions I believe are peaceful actions? What is social justice? And, what causes or identities do I support?

The Peace and Kindness March originated four years ago from students who were learning about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Children’s March and who wanted to make a difference in the community. Though only 3rd-5th grades marched, students from Pre-Primary through 2nd grade gathered outside to show their support. Since then, the march has expanded to include Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades and has offered up new opportunities for 5th graders to model leadership and guide the younger grades. This year, the march aligns with the Middle School Social Justice Day for a full day of student action.
