Jr. Track

Lowell’s 75 Jr. Track and Field athletes have now participated in two meets. For the parent exhibition, our young Leopards taught their parents how to stretch and warm-up for the big event. Competing in a variety of events, the players are developing important athletic skills: in relay races they work on communication and hand off skills, they put their lead leg and trail leg to good use as they learn how to properly clear a hurdle, and they use their long jump skills to leap across Kalmia creek. Additionally, the team is learning good form for throwing the shot put (using softballs), concentrating on keeping their elbows up. The Jr. Track team displays incredible energy and quickness in each meet. Through their support of one another and willingness to try new events, these Leopards will surely shine as they rise through the ranks of Lowell's athletics program!
