Fourth and 5th graders will serenade family and friends with holiday songs during the 4th and 5th grade winter concert. Fourth graders have chosen “Aeyay Balano Sakkad,” an Indian children's folk song sung at festivals like Diwali; “The Little Drummer Boy”—a Christmas song; and the Hanukkah song, “Those Were the Nights.” Fifth graders will perform “Candlelight,” “Ocho Kandelikas,” the Christmas song, “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Ramadan” by Maher Zein, and an excerpt from Rihanna's secular pop song, “Diamond.”
To celebrate Lowell’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the students created luminaries for Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, and Ramadan—holidays that share the common theme of light. Students will showcase their many talents as engaged song leaders, instrumentalists, dancers, narrators, concert programming scriptwriters, and more! The Winter Concert begins in the Parkside Theater at 11:00 am.
