Up first were the MS Boys Superstars against Siena. Nate opened the play sinking a three pointer from the wing. The team fed off pinpoint passing from Julian who set up both Nathan and Alejandro for mid-range jump shots. Both Alejandro and Julian went on to finish the game each scoring 6 points for the Leopards. Down by one point entering the second half, the Leopards maintained the heat on Siena. Despite a spirited effort, they lost 29-20, but not without giving tough competition!
MS Girls vs Waldorf
Recent Burke Tournament Champions, the MS Girls team took to the floor in an exciting match up against Waldorf. The Leopards played a fierce back-and-forth battle in the first quarter as Kayla scored 4 points, and teammates Jessie and Elsa competed for rebounds at both ends of the court. The Leopards continued to show their commitment throughout the game.
Waldorf was ahead, 10-8, as the teams entered the second half. Waldorf shifted their defense to deny Kayla the ball. Kayla swiftly deferred to Zuri who scored 4 points out of her 12-point total for the game. With grit and determination, Lowell defeated Waldorf with an exciting win, 27-26, improving the team’s record 4-1.
MS Boys All-Stars vs Waldorf
The triple header concluded with the MS Boys All-Stars game against Waldorf. In the first quarter, Waldorf denied Lowell’s attempts to get the ball inside as the Leopards worked on new offensive plays. By the second quarter, the Leopards took advantage of open court situations and got on the board. Each player exhibited their strengths, were quick on their feet, and helped each other out.
At a critical moment in the second half, Jacob, who led the team with 16 points and several assists, hit two threes. Moments later, Ezra secured another three-pointer putting Lowell ahead by eight. Waldorf fought back and cut Lowell’s lead to a three-point edge with only three seconds to go. Despite the intensity, Lowell was ready and knew exactly what to do. The Leopards emerged victorious winning 27-24 and taking a 4-0 record into winter break!
