Middle School Earth Day

For the second year in a row Science Teacher Lucas Kelly teamed up with Spanish Teacher Coleman Rose to design a day full of workshops that broaden Middle School students’ understanding of the environment and their stewardship of it. Students participated in workshops such as Fly Casting with Trout Unlimited, Water Purification, Recycled Mask Making, Enviro Film Study, Rock Creek Clean-Up with Adopt a Stream, Dance, Building BioChar Stoves, Green Comics, Vegan Cooking, and Thrift Earth, as well as field trips to Common Good and American University. Lucas hopes these opportunities will "spark interest which creates future conservationists and deepens students' relationships with nature.
