Pre-Primary Airport in Adventurers Room

Children in the Adventurers Room explore the new airport set up in the dramatic play area this week. Teachers Denielle and Iris initiated a soft opening of the airport and guided children through learning the different roles and procedures that are carried out. Children took turns acting as security officers, ticket takers, pilots, flight attendants, and passengers. They practiced moving luggage on a conveyor belt, handing out snacks, and mastering the plane’s controls. Upon lift-off, the pilot announced their destination. One flight went to Cape Cod and another as far away as Istanbul, which required a layover and connecting flight. Teachers expect this area to build and take shape as children make suggestions with each new encounter.
