A Wider Circle Silver Spring
This group will be helping with the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program which focuses on providing basic need items for the home to people seeking to rise out of poverty. All ages are welcome. For more information contact Dave Compton or Colleen Robertson. Please RSVP.

Help sort through donations to ensure that we are only redistributing items that are in what we call dignity condition (free of damages), keeping our showrooms stocked, and assisting clients as they are selecting items to take home. Every section needs assistance. Volunteer assignments will depend on current need.
Your group will report to our Community Service Center located at 9159 Brookville Rd Silver Spring MD 20910. When your group arrives, we will have you go through an orientation, take a brief tour of the facility, split up into groups that focus on different tasks and get started! At the end of your volunteer day, we will do a wrap-up reflection in which we answer any questions and would love to hear your thoughts on the day.
There are meaningful tasks for volunteers of all ages. All volunteers do need to complete a waiver form in the volunteer packet. The waiver form requires a parent or guardian to sign off for anyone under the age of 18.
Also, there is no on-site parking. Please review the best parking instructions if you are driving to the facility.
In order to serve our clients with dignity, we ask all volunteers to dress ready to work: t-shirts with sleeves (shoulders covered), clothing without holes, no thin leggings or baggy sweatpants and if there are any messages on shirts, they should be family friendly. Also, we are in a warehouse and ask that volunteers wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes. (Sneakers are fine). The temperature in our facility is similar to the temperature outside. Please dress for the weather.
