Before and After Care

Before Care

Carpool begins at 7:45 am for all students, and ends between 8 and 8:30, depending on age. We recognize that families' schedules sometimes require a little more flexibility, so we offer free Before Care starting at 7:30 am.

After Care

When the school day is over, many children participate in Lowell’s After Care program, which runs through 6 pm, Monday to Friday, including Wednesdays.

For our Pre-Primary and Primary School students, After Care provides a safe and enjoyable atmosphere to play, make choices, and hone social skills under the guidance of caring adults. Participants engage in various indoor and outdoor games and activities, and children with homework are provided with a supervised quiet room to complete their assignments.

For Middle School students, the After Care program provides a space to snack, socialize, or complete homework in a quiet environment, with peer assistance or adult help as needed.

Most families enroll as part of their yearly contract, but new enrollments are accepted throughout the school year.

After Care is also available on a drop-in basis; requests must be made by noon on the day of.

Between Care

Families must arrange care when a student participates in a program that does not begin immediately after dismissal or end before pick-up time (e.g., a minicourse or a sports team). In these instances, we offer adjusted After Care rates, which can be arranged through the Auxiliary Programs office.

Conference Care and Break Clubs

We offer themed days of events and activities during winter and spring breaks, including cooking, field trips, picnics, arts and crafts, and sports. Families can choose to participate for the entire break or select days.

During parent/guardian-teacher conferences, short-term childcare is provided free of charge. Full-day care during conferences and professional days is offered for a fee.

*We ask that parents send an additional snack for After Care in the afternoon.
