  • STEP 4: Request three recommendations from your child's teachers

Lowell School uses Ravenna—a new comprehensive online admission system. Your child’s teachers will be able to submit their recommendations electronically through this system. We require three recommendations. One recommendation should be from your child’s English teacher, another from the math teacher, and a general recommendation from a home room teacher, specials teacher, coach or someone who knows your child well. Please log into to request recommendations.
  • STEP 5: Register your child for the SSAT

For applicants to grades 6-8, the SSAT or ISEE is required. Test results must be sent directly to Lowell from the testing site.

Register your child for the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) at or by calling 609-683-4440.

Register for the ISEE at or by calling 800-989-3721. Testing dates and sites are available on the SSAT and ISEE websites.

  • STEP 7: Schedule your child's visit

Prospective students will visit on a school day and will shadow a student in the applicant's current grade (i.e. a 7th grade applicant will shadow a 6th grade student). Students should come dressed for school and be prepared to participate in all of our classes, including specials.

After your application has been received, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule your child's visit. Read more about student visits here.
