COVID-19 Update

Due to the pandemic, our facilities including the pool, playgrounds, and buildings are not available for rental. We are carefully monitoring the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC and government health agencies as we develop our response to the virus. Check back for more information as the DMV area reopens.

Are You Ready to Party?

We have many spaces available to rent for birthday parties. We also offer themed party options for families wanting to host a pool party or woodworking party.

Pool Parties

Pool parties may be scheduled during the regular school year on Saturday afternoons from 4:30-6:15 pm. Go to the Pool Parties page for more information.

Children learn introductory woodworking skills such as the correct way to hold a hammer, the three-touch method for hammering nails, how to cut a piece of wood with a handsaw, and proper gluing techniques. Children’s imaginations can run wild in the finishing stages of the project as they paint and otherwise embellish their creations.

Available for children in 1st-4th grade; up to 15 children/party, cost is $25 per child. Party is two hours long total; 90 minutes are set aside for the project and 30 minutes for the party. Parents provide all food and drinks.

Safety in the wood shop is emphasized during instruction and goggles are worn throughout project construction. Lowell's wood shop is in the basement of Marjorie Webster House, the small house at the end of the driveway on the left. All projects are original designs developed by the instructor. Suggestions for alternate projects are welcome.
