Aquatics Instructor

Lowell School in Washington, DC, is seeking certified Aquatics Instructors for our Aquatics program, serving students ages PK–8th grade; this will be an immediate hire.

We Offer:

• Water Safety Instructor training (WSI)
• Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid training/certification
• Certified Pool Operator training/certification

Shifts Require Day, Evening, and/or Weekend Availability:

• Monday–Friday from 9 am–3 pm
• Monday–Friday from 3:30 pm–7 pm
• Saturday from 8:30 am–4 pm

Qualifications:

• Previous swim instruction experience is required
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred
• Current Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR-AED certifications are required
• Demonstrated experience working with children
• Excellent character, integrity, and adaptability
• Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds in weight
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:

• Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid (American Red Cross preferred)
• Swimming skills are required and must be demonstrated effectively before employment
• Must be able to swim 200 yards 
• Must be able to communicate with students in a pool environment
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds

Expected Salary Range:

• $21–24 per hour
