Capital Campaigns

Capital campaigns raise money for a special purpose and in the past have helped purchase the campus on 16th and Decatur Street and renovate our current campus. Campaigns for the Endowment have strengthened the program by creating funds to support teacher salaries, financial assistance, and other needs as determined by the Board. Major gifts and many, many smaller gifts from the entire Lowell community are critical to the success of these multi-year campaigns with monetary goals in the millions.

Building on Success
A Campaign for Lowell School

The Building on Success capital campaign has a goal of raising $3 million towards the cost of the major renovation and expansion planned for the Parkside Building. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2013.

This project will allow Lowell to expand its rich program for all children and provide middle school students with an inspiring 21st century learning environment they can call their own. The project will incorporate LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) features and make the building ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible. The new spaces for the Middle School, some of which are pictured in the gallery at right, will include

• a spacious library and technology center
• two fully-equipped science labs
• a black-box theater designed for teaching drama and theater tech
• grade-level gathering spaces
• a band room
• an art suite
• a living roof
