After School

Lowell doesn’t close its doors when the academic day is done!

After Care

After Care provides a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for younger students to play and hone social skills under the guidance of caring adults. Park After Dark, the Middle School After Care program, is a homework club. Care runs from 3:15–6:00 pm. Children may attend daily or drop-in.

Minicourses

These enrichment courses offer students the opportunity to develop their passions and explore new interests. From beading and yoga to Spanish club and chess, there’s always something exciting to choose from. Offerings rotate five times a year.

Aquatics

A range of group swim lessons, as well as semi-private and private lessons, are available for children of all ages after school and on the weekends. We also have a community swim team, The Lionfish. The Aquatics Program is open to both Lowell families and the broader community.

Music

A wide range of options for music instruction are offered after school, including group and individual instrumental and voice lessons, as well as an electric pop band, an acoustic pop band, and a recorder consort.

Stage Craft

Stagecraft is a multi-discipline after school activity that provides invaluable experience for students interested in pursuing drama on or off the stage. Students will be asked by directors to create set pieces / lighting designs / sound designs for shows that must meet the artistic needs of on-going shows.

Athletics

Athletics are offered to students beginning in Kindergarten. Students in K-3rd grade can join the swim team in the winter and the junior track team in the spring. Students in 4th grade and up can choose from kickball, cross-country, and soccer in the fall; swimming and basketball in the winter; ultimate frisbee, senior track, and girls lacrosse* in the spring. (*5th grade and up)
The friendships these kids establish with one another helps them to create even more valuable relationships as they move on; my son become more outgoing and secure in who he is; and that all came from the nurturing of Lowell.
