Pre-Primary's essential theme is Interactions.

Essential questions explored:
How do I learn? How do I work in groups?
How do I make friends? What are limits and what are choices?

Kindergarten's essential theme is Relationships.

Essential questions explored:
What is a relationship? How are things related? How am I related to the world? (a community, my school, my classroom) What makes a community?

First Grade essential theme is Interdependence.

Essential questions explored:
How does where you live affect how you live? 
How does what we do affect others- in both positive and negative ways? 
What do living things need to survive and thrive in their environment?

Second Grade essential theme is Movement.

Essential questions explored:
What is movement? What causes movement? How does movement cause change?

Third Grade essential theme is Change.

Essential questions explored:
What is change? What causes change? What does change cause? What is a change agent?

Fourth Grade essential theme is Systems.

Essential questions explored:
What is a system? Where do we see systems? How can we learn from systems?

Fifth Grade essential theme is Structures.

Essential questions explored:
What is a structure? What happens when structures are altered? What the costs/benefits of structure? What are the results when challenging existing structural norms?

Sixth grade essential theme is Cultures.

Essential questions explored:
What is culture? How are cultures similar and different over time and/or place? What drives culture change?
