Parents Association

The Parents Association (PA) serves as a collective voice for parents in the school and as an organizing vehicle for efforts to support the school. It is an integral part of the Lowell Community. Our mission is to facilitate a positive, welcoming, and inclusive climate for all parents and to work closely with the school in meeting its goals. The PA promotes a shared participation in the education of children, builds a sense of community among families, works with the school in organizing and coordinating specific events and committees, and raises funds for the school. All parents belong to the PA by virtue of having children at Lowell, and all are invited and encouraged to join in the many PA-sponsored activities and events.

A key purpose of the PA is to facilitate communication between parents, the School administration, and the Board of Trustees. Lowell's leaders—Debbie Gibbs, Elizabeth Lener, Stefania Rubino, Moira Regan, and the administrative team—encourage parents to come to them directly. The PA seeks to support and complement this connection through all-school meetings as well as the Parent Council. The PA President also serves as a member of the Board and meets regularly with the Head of School.

All-School Meetings

There are two All-School PA meetings each year; all parents are invited and encouraged to attend. These meetings serve to keep the parent community informed and updated about various school policies and programs and serve as a forum for interacting with the school administration.

Parent Council

The Parent Council is comprised of PA officers and Group Parent representatives from across the grade levels. The Parent Council meets monthly with the Head of School and other staff as needed to provide input aboutS chool activities. The Council aims to reflect the diverse views of parents and families at the school. All members are available to help facilitate and foster communication.

Events and Activities

The PA also pursues its aims of supporting the school and building community through a variety of tasks, activities, and events. These are detailed in the School handbook and are also available online. Information and updates about events will also be posted on the School website. Parents are encouraged to seek more information or volunteer to help by contacting the designated event chairs or the activity coordinators listed or by contacting the PA Volunteer Coordinator. You may also contact the President or Vice President with any questions or suggestions.
