Diversity

Lowell has a longstanding institutional commitment to being an embracing community that seeks to ensure that every family feels welcomed and included. Actively promoting mutual understanding of differences enhances our school climate and the social and cognitive development of our students. Acceptance, respect, and inclusion are key elements woven into Lowell's curriculum and school life for students, and these same values are promoted among adults in the community, including parents, faculty, staff, and administration. The principles of diversity and inclusion factor into activities ranging from classroom discussions and recess play to administrative decision making and event planning.

Lowell has a wide range of diversity within our community including but not limited to gender, race, ability, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, religion, ethnicity, global perspective, and family configuration.

The Board Diversity Committee helps to maintain our level of commitment. The members of this committee reflect the diversity of our community. This committee examines and supports governance, student life, family education, curriculum, and hiring practices.

As you explore our website you will see the interwoven elements that support identity, diversity, and community as we charge ahead to strengthen minds, honor individuality, and ensure equity.
